SALE AT ADDINGTON FAT SHEEP EASIER IN PRICE. HIGH VALUES FOR STORES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. July 21. There was a sharp easing in the fat sheep market at Addington today, especially for best ewes, which declined up to 3s a head, and for medium to light ewes, which declined from 5s to 6s a head. Best young wethers maintained recent rates. There was a steadying in the recent sharp advance in fat cattle prices. For store sheep prices were the highest of the season. There was a very keen demand for ewe hoggets and best of these made 31s. Wether hoggets of medium quality made from 18s 6d to 21s. With little outside demand prices for all classes of fat sheep except best young wethers showed a decided drop, up to 3s a head in case of best ewes and 5s to 6s a head for medium to light ewes. Prices for best fat cattle showed little change, but unfinished sorts and the big bulk of medium and ordinary cows showed a drop of 20s to 25s a head. All classes of pork met with sound competition at full schedule rates. Values for choppers remained at recent levels. Baconers were in large supply and with a keen sale values were slightly firmer than last week, the average price per lb. being B'Zid to 9d.

MASTERTON SALE INCREASED PRICES FOR WETHERS The Wairarapa live stock auctioneers report as follows on their Masterton sale yesterday Values for wothers increased, while fat ewes were down on previous sales. In the store sheep section, for woolly wether hoggets the market was more buoyant, with a rising tendency, and in the store twotooth wether section for a small proportion offering values improved. Breeding ewes were not in demand. A good yarding of station and dairy cattle was offered, condition in both sections being poor to medium, though values were up to vendors’ expectations and a total clearance was made. Values at auction were:— Sheep: Fat and forward wethers, 29s to 345: fat maiden ewes, 28s; prime heavy ewes, 22s lOd; fat ewes, 15s to 17s. Store sheep: Two-tooth wethers. 22s 3d; woolly wether hoggets, good. 18s to 19s 2d; medium, 16s 6d to 16s lid: others, Ils to 11s 6d; shorn wether hoggets, good, 17s; b.f. hoggets, Ils 9d to 14s 3d; five-year ewes, r.w. S.D., 12s 3d to 12s 7d. Station cattle: P.A. cows, r.w.b.. medium condiion, £4 4s to £4 12s; P.A. cows, r.w.b., poor condition, £3 to £3 10s; Hereford cows, r.w.b., £4 Is; 20-months P.A. steers, £6; yearling P.A. steers, £3 15s; yearling P.A. heifers. £2. Dairy cattle: Springing dairy cows, second to fourth calvers £9 10s to £l2 10s; ditto, medium condition and later, £7 to £8 10s; springing two-year Jersey heifers, £6.
