ALLEGED FAILURE
OF BRITISH LANDING ATTEMPT ON SOUTH-EAST COAST OF ITALY. PARIS QUOTES BERLIN REPORT. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, July 21. The Paris radio says it is reported from Berlin that British forces who this morning attempted a landing near Bari, on the south-east coast of Italy, met with resistance from coastal batteries and the coastal defence forces and that the venture proved a complete failure.
