MAYOR OF WAIROA
RESIGNATION ON ACCOUNT OF ILL HEALTH. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) WAIROA, This Day. The Mayor of Wairoa (Mr H. L. Harker) has tendered his resignation on account of ill health. He has been Mayor of Wairoa for the last twelve years, during which period the town has shown considerable advancement under his guidance, while its financial position has also greatly improved. A meeting of the Borough Council decided to accept Mr Harker s resignation with deep regret and a new appointment will be made by the council on August 10. _______
