PUBLIC NOTICE. RUSSIA’S POWER The explanation of Russia’s help to the United Nations is given in Scripture. Assuming her to be playing the part foretold of her as Benjamin, it becomes very plain. We must not think that the help has come from Communism—it has not. Three times Russia has helped to save Europe from dictators—first in 1812, when Napoleon was defeated in his attempt at Moscow, but this help was given under a Tsar, not under a Commune; secondly, in the late war, 1914-1918, when her help held back the German armies and gave England time to collect her forces—this also was under a Tsar; and, thirdly, in the present times under Stalin, but his is a very different regime from that of Lenin and Trotsky. They had the Comintern, whereas Stalin has abolished it; also he entered the League of Nations and publicly proclaimed his wish for peace. Did Lenin do so? No. So it is evident that Europe did not benefit from Communism —Communism was the instrument used to purge Russia, but itself then had to be purged. All this fits in with the Scripture forecast of Russia carrying out Benjamin’s tasks, one of which was to help Britain. This has come to pass. Do not let us be confused by the nebulous phrase, “British Commonwealth of Nations.” Is India a British nation, or the Islands? Besides, it is absolutely contrary to Christ’s teaching. He told us to pray for a Kingdom —“Thy Kingdom come.” Never in the Bible are we told to pray for a Commonwealth. It is contrary to the Almighty’s plan, which is a “Company of Nations,” which we are in fact. FRANK WHITE. “Eastry,” Eketahuna.
