GENERAL ELECTION
KAIPARA SEAT. INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 18. Five candidates for selection as representative of the Independent National Party in the Kaipara electorate had their claims reviewed at a meeting of the selection committee, and Mr T. Clifton Webb, solicitor, Auckland, was chosen by ballot. The successful candidate is of a family of Northern Wairoa pioneers, which has been closely identified with the public life of North Auckland. He came to live in Auckland 16 years ago.
