NATIONAL PARTY OPPONENT FOR MR NASH. MR N. P. CROFT SELECTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A meeting of delegates selected Mr N. P. Croft as National Party candidate for Hutt, the constituency now represented by the Hon. W. Nash. Mr Croft, who is 37 years of age, is head of N. P. Croft and Company, cartage contractors, a Lower Hutt firm operating on a co-operative basis, its drivers sharing in profits. As an amateur boxer, Mr Croft won the Wellington Provincial middleweight and welterweight titles in 1930 and also the Canterbury amateur middleweight title.
