GENERAL ELECTION
WELLINGTON SOUTH SEAT. CANDIDATE WITHDRAWS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. Captain David P. Howlett, M.M., who contested the Wellington South seat as the official National candidate at the 1933 election and who was again nominated for selection, has announced that due to his duties in the Armed Forces he was withdrawing from politics for the duration of the war. NATIONAL PARTY. CANDIDATE FOR NELSON SEAT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NELSON. July 15. Major F. W. Huggins has been selected as the National Party candidate for the Nelson seat. He is serving with the Army in New Zealand after two years in the Middle East.
