Apart from hospitals and invalids, there will be no issue of eggs to the public in the Wairarapa this week. A. and P. Association Nominations. Next week three of the younger members of the club will hold a debate with senior pupils from Whatman Home, the subject being: “That Alcohol is of no Use.” Mr D. Boswell was elected deputy chairman. Movements of White Eyes. & VDuring the past three years members of the Ornithological Society have ringed a considerable number of whiteeyes in various parts of New Zealand, with a view to ascertaining the movements of these birds. • Nearly 2000 have been ringed in Masterton and district by local members of the society. A bird ringed in Dunedin has been recovered 150 miles away. Any person finding a white-eye with rings is asked to note the colour combination on each leg’ or the number of the ring and to forward particulars to the “TimesAge.” If the bird is dead the ring should be sent in but otherwise the bird should be liberated again and the rings left on.
