Movements of White Eyes. & VDuring the past three years members of the Ornithological Society have ringed a considerable number of whiteeyes in various parts of New Zealand, with a view to ascertaining the movements of these birds. • Nearly 2000 have been ringed in Masterton and district by local members of the society. A bird ringed in Dunedin has been recovered 150 miles away. Any person finding a white-eye with rings is asked to note the colour combination on each leg’ or the number of the ring and to forward particulars to the “TimesAge.” If the bird is dead the ring should be sent in but otherwise the bird should be liberated again and the rings left on.
