The United States Secretary of War, Mr Stimson, has arrived in this country for important conferences. He landed at a British airfield and was met by Lieutenant-General J. L. Devers, United States Commander in the European theatre, Mr Averill Harriman, and a party of American officers. Mr Stimson, who is 75, was accompanied by his public relations chief.
