SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. WIN FOR AIR FORCE. The Wairarapa Rugby Union’s championship matches were continued on Saturday afternoon. The senior game between Air Force and Carterton was played on the Carterton showgrounds, and was hard and fast throughout. Both sides were without the services of some of their regular players, but worthy substitutes were fonnd. In scrum and line-out work the Air Force were a shade superior to Carterton. In the back division Air Force had the better combination, their tries coming from good passing movements. The first try came from a nice passing rush, Stevens going over in a handy position, the try being converted by Angus. For Carterton in the first spell Hurley kicked a penalty goal. In the second spell Stevens and Donovan scored tries for Air Force, neither being converted. Just before the call of time Jensen potted a field goal. The game ended in a win for the Air Force by 11 points to 7. Mr W. Spooner was referee. G. F. Henderson ably led the Air Force team, being well supported by F. Flatman and H. Potts. ARMY v. COMBINED TEAM. The Army team beat the Combined team by 18 points to nil in a senior match played at Featherston on Saturday afternoon. THIRD GRADE. In a third grade A match' Old Boys beat Carterton by 28 points to 3. _ Masterton beat College by 11 points to 6 in a third grade B match.
