WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

KOPUARANGA MEETING COMPETITION WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Kopuaranga Women’s Institute was held at the residence of Mrs S. J. Clarke yesterday afternoon, Mrs W. J.Cottle presiding over a good attendance of members. It was decided to open a National Savings Account. It was resolved that the Institute become a financial member of the New Zealand Crippled Children’s Society. The roll call, “My most embarrassing moment,” proved most interesting. A guessing competition organised by Mrs Clarke, was won by Miss Budd. Afternoon tea was provided by the hostesses, Mesdames Wright and Brophy. The competitions resulted as follow: Best bloom': Mrs Jarrett, 1; Mrs Hewitt. 2; Mrs Clarke, 3. Coat hanger: Mrs Wright, 1; Mrs Hansen, 2; Mrs Brophy, 3. The meeting was brought to a close with the passing of a vote of thanks to Mrs Clarke for the use of her home.
