AWARDS FOR AIRMEN
NEW ZEALANDERS OVERSEAS. EIGHT D.F.C’s. & TWO D.F.M’s. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The awards of eight Distinguished Flying Crosses and two Distinguished Flying Medals to members of the R.N.Z.A.F. are announced by the Air Department today. They are:— Distinguished Flying Cross: Flight Lieutenant John Leslie Munro; mother, Mrs A. J. Munro, Gisborne; Acting Flight Lieutenant Guy Lionel Roy Heywood; mother, Mrs O. N. Heywood, Auckland; Flying Officer Sydney Armstrong Haig Short; father, Mr T. S. Short, Paeroa; Flying Officer George Alfred Patrick; mother, Mrs A. M. Patrick, Dunedin; Flying Officer Charles Fray Ormerod; father, Mr O. B. Ormerod, Gisborne; Flying Officer John Aitcheson Maguire; father, Mr P. J. Maguire, Milton; Pilot Officer John Mathers Bailey; brother, Mr W. J. Bailey, Northern Ireland; Flying Officer Lloyd Allan Trigg; wife, Mrs N. B. Trigg, Palmerston North. Distinguished Flying Medal: Flight Sergeant Robert Leonard Sommerville; father, Mr H. Sommerville, Auckland; Sergeant William Thomas Gunn; mother, Mrs T. J. Gunn, Invercargill.
