KAIPARA SEAT. LABOUR TO SELECT CANDIDATE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.} DARGAVILLE, July 7. Mr Percy McGregor Stewart, who opposed the late Mr Coates in the Labour interests for the Kaipara electorate last election, and who has been approached to stand for the forthcoming election has replied that if sufficient support is forthcoming he is willing to stand as an Independent without party ties. Mr Stewart is a director of the Ruawai Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd. At a meeting of Labour Party representatives the question of a Labour candidate to contest the Kaipara seat was discussed and it was decided that all branches and affiliations in the electorate be asked to nominate a candidate for selection.
