GREYTOWN

LABOUR PARTY EUCHRE.PARTY AND DANCE. ("Times- Age" Special.) The Greytown branch of the Labour Party held a very successful euchre party and dance in the Odd Fellows Hall last night, those present spending a most enjoyable time. The results of the card tournament were:—Ladies: Mrs J. Woodley. Masterton, 1; Mrs A. G. McHardy, Greytown, 2. Men: Mr K. Matiaha, Papawai, 1; Mr M. Hume, 2. In the aggregate the winners were: —Ladies: Mrs F McKenna, 64 points, 1; Mrs L. Murray. 63 points, 2. Men: Mr K. Matiaha, 63* points, 1; Mr W. Woodley, 67 points.

' Mrs J.' Woodley handed her prize back to the committee. The music for the dancing was supplied by Mrs F. Anderson and Mr S. Te Tan. Mr T. Karaitiana was. M.C. LIBERTY LOAN OVER £13,000 SUBSCRIBED. The postmaster at Greytown, Mr E. Maddison, reports that the local subscriptions to the Liberty Loan now exceed £13,000. These represent contHbntions of both small and large amounts. It is expected that this week will see a big increase in the subscrip tions. Golf. Next Saturday a mixed foursome will be played by the members of the local golf club. The draw will be made at the clubhouse at 1 p.m. TOWN HALL "A YANK ON THE BURMA ROAD. The programme tonight will be headed by the thrilling drama, "A Yank on the Burma Road.’’ the leading roles m which are taken by Nelson Barry and Laraine Day.
