WELFARE LEAGUE

MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. COMMITTEE REPORTS. The monthly meeting of the Women’s National Welfare League was held in Masterton yesterday. Those present were: Miss Kummer (in the chair), Mesdames R. C. Drummond. H. P. Harrison. S. Coradine. S. J. Munn, R. Whyborn. A. W. McKenzie, A. McCracken and S. N. Kilgour. Mesdames McKenzie and Whyborn reported on two visits paid to the public hospital during June. Visitors on July 6 will be Mesdames Whyporn and Kilgour, and on July 20 Mesdames Drummond and Whyborn. Donations of English papers or periodicals may be left at Mr Page’s shop. Mrs A. W. McKenzie reported that two cases had been attended to in connection with the social welfare work. Household help was granted to a sick mother and clothing was purchased in the other case. Mrs Carruthers reported that a hamper had been sent during June to the A.N.A. Club in Wellington. Donations for July are to be left at Mr J. Ninnes’s shop before July 20.
