EKETAHUNA

MEETING OF TEACHERS EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE'S WORK. (“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting of the Pahiatua-Bush branch of the N.Z.E.I. was held at the Pahiatua District High Schoo*l on Saturday. Teachers were present from the Pahiatua and Eketahuna District High Schools, and the Konini, Marinia, Scarborough and Hukanui schools. Morning tea was served by the ladies of the Pahiatua staff. The object of the meeting was to hear a report by Mr Cuthbert, of the Pahiatua staff.

Mi* Cuthbert gave a concise and interesting account of the institute’s conference stressing the four main topics discussed, the social value of the meeting and expressing appreciation of the work done by the executive of the N.Z.E.I. Mr Cuthbert paid a tribute to the work of Mr Pryor, headmaster of the Pahiatua District High School, who had just retired from the executive. .

Mr Giddings, president of the branch, in proposing a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Cuthbert for his report, also paid a tribute to the valuable work of Mr Pryor.

Mr Pryor, in reply, mentioned the “Children’s Charter,” which set out the educational and social objectives, concerned with the well-being of future generations.
