POLICE INQUIRIES
FOR MISSING AUCKLAND BRIDE
MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE.
(By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) SYDNEY, This Day.
The Australian and New Zealand police are inquiring into the disappearance of a young Auckland bride named Turner. Since her Auckland marriage, nearly a year ago, all.efforts to trace her or her’ husband have failed. She is said to have sold a property for £4,000 just before she was married. After a fashionable wedding, the girl is reported to have left for Sydney, but the police here can find no trace of her arrival in Australia. Since the woman’s marriage, mysterious messages have been received by her parents, stating that she was drowned after the ship on which she was travelling had been torpedoed, but the police- here doubt whether she ever left New Zealand and are positive that she is not in Australia.
