PRODUCTION IN UNITED STATES.

POSSIBLE MEANS OF SHORTENING WAR. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 12.10 p.m.) RUGBY. June 27. A drive aimed at the production of an additional supply of two million tons of steel during the last half of 1943, has been announced by the chairman of the United States War Production Board. Mr Nelson, chairman of the War Production Board, estimates that successful attainment of this aim will permit this year's munitions production goals and “perhaps an eventual shortening of lhe war.”
