HAWKE’S BAY MEETING. •STEEPLECHASE TO ABBEY LU. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS. June 27. Most of the horses showing winning form at the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's winter meeting at Hastings on Saturday are engaged at the Wellington meeting which opens this week. The main casualty at the meeting was The Dozer who stifled himself early in the running of the Hawke's Bay Hurdles, and was never afterward himself. His trainer. H. E. Grey, stated that he would be withdrawn from his Wellngton engagements. The weather was fine and the track dead, but dry on lop.
