HOMING PIGEONS
MASTERTON CLUB SHOW HELD ON SATURDAY. • MEMBER'S SUCCESSES AT TARANAKI. The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club held another show on Saturday, there being two classes. It was announced that the places gained by Mr W. Miller's birds at the recent Taranaki show included 5 firsts, 2 seconds, a third, a very highly commended and 4 special prizes. The special prizes were the club's trophy for the best adult homer in the open classes; the club’s medallion for the best homer in the open classes, and cash specials for the best homer and the best' opposite sex in the open classes. The following were the results, Mr J. M. Nicolls of Carterton acting as judge: Young hens: A. Pinkney 1. J. Tilyard 2, Stewart & Sons 3, Grant & Forrester v.h.c., W. Miller h.c., Grant & Forrester c. Old hens: Grant & Forrester 1, Miss A. Miller 2, Stewart & Sons 3, A. Pinkney v.h.c., I. Mayes h.c., W. J. Miller c. The following are the positions in connection with the points prize:—A. Pinkney, 41 points, 1; Grant & Forrester, 40, 2; Stewart & Sons, 35, 3. Next week a class will be held for old cock birds.
