STATE THEATRE
"UNITED WE STAND” One of the most stupendous pictures dealing with the war is “United We Stand,” which will be shown tonight. It tells the grim story of the two last wars and the "cast” includes hundreds of thousands of people including emperors, kings, dictators, ’presidents, generals and the free and conquered peoples of the world. Its shocking story is torn from civilisation's most explosive decade and its flaming background is the whole embattled earth and the seven seas. The story is graphically told by Lowell Thomas. It is definitely a picture everyone should see, it being dramatic and stirring and skilfully prepared, clear and precise. “United We Stand" is a shattering indictment of complacency and appeasement, jealousy and intrigue. It is the graphic story of 25 years of war drama, how it happened and why it happened, and filmed on the spot with the men who are making history as its cast, and with the whole world as its stage. The programme on Sunday night will be headed by the outstanding film, "Pack Up Your Troubles,” which contains all the ingredients necessary to make the picture a favourite with service men and their guests.
