GREATER FIRE POWER

AIMED AT BY GERMANS.

IN VIEW OF DWINDLING RESERVES.

(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) LONDON, June 23.

Germany is increasing the fire power of her army as part of an effort to offset the dwindling of reserve of seasoned troops reports the Stockholm “Tidningen’s” Berlin correspondent. Instead of every tenth soldier being equipped with a mortar-type machinegun, equivalent in fire power to 83 rifles, every fourth man will be so armed. Reich factories are still manufacturing large quantities of war material, but the manpower problem is becoming more critical. The Germans will also try to exceed the Allied motorised and aerial forces in striking power.
