HONOURED BY THE KING. AWARD OF VICTORIA CROSS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.50 a.m.) RUGBY, June 22. During his recent visit to the Eighth Army in Tunisia, the King stopped at the lines of the Gurkha Rifles to pin the ribbon of the Victoria Cross on Subadar Lal Bahadur Thapa. His Majesty shook hands with the subadar and said: “Yours was 'a very brave act. I am proud of you.'
