Motor Registrations.

'So far, 1287 motor vehicles have been registered at the Masterton Post Office for the forthcoming licensing year. This represents about half the total to be registered. Motorists should make a point of applying early for their new labels, so as to avoid a last minute rush. The new stickers have to be affixed on motor vehicles before July 1. A new set of coupons, 12 in number, is also being issued. v t '«*JS ' Plunket Work.

The senior- Plunket nurse (Miss E. Cocker) reports as follows on the Masterton Plunket Society’s work for the year ended March 31 (states the society’s annual report): —Number of new baby cases (town and country), 236; number of babies breast-fed when first seen, 201; number of babies complemented when first seen, 13; number of babies artificially fed when first seen, 22; visits to homes (to babies), 2353; visits to homes (to pre-school children), 256; visits of babies to rooms, 5204; visits of pre-school children to rooms, 655; visits of adults to rooms, 5528; expectant mothers advised (new cases), 26; number of pre-school children examined by School Medical Officer, 112; number of babies under supervision at the end of lyiarch, 1943, 402; number of preschool children under supervision at the end of March, 1943, 372.
