WAR LOSSES
UNITED STATES ARMY & NAVY. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) RUGBY, June 20. The United Slates Office of . War Information Reports that casualties in the American armed forces from the outbreak of war to date total 89.503. This includes: Dead. 15,029; wounded, 21,101; missing, 32,883; prisoners of war, 20,490.
A War Department report shows Army casualties totalling 62,887, of which 7,583 were killed, 16,376 wounded, and 21,994 missing and 16,934 prisoners of war. Of the wounded, 5,470 have returned to active duty or have been released from hospital. The casualties included 12,500 Philippine Scouts. Of these, 469 were killed, 747 wounded and the remainder are assumed to be prisoners of war. A Navy Department report shows casualties totalling 26,616, made up of 7,446 dead, 4,725 wounded, 10,889 missing and 3,556 prisoners of war.
