Genera] Ramirez, the new President of Argentina, has cancelled the Presidential elections, which were scheduled for September 5, and terminated the “provisional” status.of his regime, says the Montevideo correspondent of the United Press of America. Authoritative sources interpret these decrees as an indication that President Ramirez will not permit a national election in 1943. The decrees have also silenced rumours that he was contemplating offering himself* as a candidate for a legal election.
