CENTRAL SCHOOL PUPILS PURCHASE TWELVE POUND BONDS. BESIDES INVESTING CLUB FUNDS. An excellent response has been made by the pupils of the Masterton Central School to the suggestion of the headmaster, Mr E. G. Coddington, that the various classes could each purchase a Liberty Bond. Siqce the idea was put forward on Monday, twelve £1 bonds have been purchased by the pupils from their small donations and in addition their, service club has purchased a £10" bond from funds v raised previously for war purposes. The bonds have been presented to the school committee, so that the money will be available for school purposes when the bonds mature.
Mr Coddington states that'it would be possible to raise about £lO,OOO to £15,000 from the primary, secondary and private schools of the Dominion if a concerted move were made on the lines suggested. 'The bonds so subscribed, said Mr Coddington, could be donated to any worthy object, such as the Crippled Children’s Society, Health Camps, R.S.A., or school funds, etc.
