PICTURES BY NEW ZEALAND WAR PRISONER. PORTRAITS PARTICULARLY PRAISED. (Special P.A. Correspondent.) (Received This Day. 12.40 p.m.) . LONDON, June 16. Nine pictures by Lance-Corporal A. A. Deans, of Darfield, are being shown in London at an exhibition of art by British prisoners. Corporal Deans is at Stalag 20A, where much of his work was shown at an exhibition on Boxing Day. It, with that of others, was photographed and sent to London, where an exhibition has been arranged by the British Prisoners of War Fund. The work of Corporal Deans includes two fine portraits, also “Crete Memories,” “Memories of New Zealand.” a view from the roof of the Kokinia Hospital, and a view of Stalag 20 A. Salonika. His portraits are particularly praised by the "Daily Telegraph.”
