LIBERTY LOAN

CAMPAIGN IN MASTERTON BOND WAGGON. VISITING TOWN TOMORROW. The Bond Waggon, with -which a party of well-known entertainers aie touring the North Island, will visit Masterton tomorrow afternoon. A programme will be presented at the Masterton Post Office corner, commencing at 2 p.m. The Marine Band will be in attendance. The waggon, which consists of a five ton army truck, carries a piano and a loud speaker. The personnel comprises an M.C., who acts as manager, a speaker and four entertainers drawn from the army and air force. Among the entertainers is Ray Trewern, the wellknown New Zealand singer. The waggon is equipped with the latest electrical gadgets for bioadcasting programmes to big crowds. From the excellent talent found in the army and air force, a first class team has been enlisted, reinforced by experienced broadcasters and a Liberty Loan speaker. The bond waggon will appear to be rolling along on the familiar Air Force circles of red, white and blue, as these cover its wheels. At all centres of population on its route, the bond waggon will stop for business. A platform will be let down from the side, decorations unfolded, the piano brought into action and really bright street entertainment presented. The platform footlights are real twenty pound bombs and a five hundred pound bomb is also carried, on which the public are to be invited to stick savings stamps with a guarantee that the missile will be dropped on the Japanese. The waggon will be in Carterton at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, and at Pahiatua at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Much interest will attach to the appearance of the waggon in Masterton and it is expected that there will be a large and representative assemblage of the public to greet the visitors tomorrow. Arrangements are being made to organise a squad of bond sellers to operate during the entertainment period.
