WAIRARAPA COMPETITIONS. WIN FOR CARTERTON SENIORS. Playing in the Wairarapa Rugby Union’s senior football competition at Carterton on Saturday afternoon. Carterton beat the Combined team by 29 points to nil. The match was fairly interesting, Carterton showing up in the scrums. Sparkling football was witnessed at Featherston on Saturday when Army beat Air Force by 14 points to 12. The game was fought in a keen spirit of sportsmanship and so evenly matched were the teams that either could have secured the victory. For Army, Cameron scored and converted a try and kicked a penalty goal. Mouldey and Hendricksen also scored tries for the Army team. The Army scored in the first minute of play and Air Force retaliated quickly. The Air Force backs played brilliantly and were well matched by the Army team. The Carterton third grade B team beat College, at Carterton, by 6 points to 3. WELLINGTON UNION. SENIOR GRADE RESULTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Hardham Cup: Johnsonville 15 beat Air Force B 8; Seatoun 14 beat Air Force A 0; Navy 11 beat Eastbourne 5; Miramar 9 beat A.N.A. Headquarters 0; University 19 beat Fortress Maoris 13.
