SMALL SAVINGS
NEW RECORD ESTABLISHED IN BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.10 a.m.) RUGBY, June 13. A sum of £27,452,683, the highest figure yet recorded for one week’s small savings, and representing £1 0s 2d per head of population is announced today. This beats the previous record saved in the week ending on June 5 by nearly a million, and compares with £11,474,457 on the corresponding week last year.
