BY-SELECTIONS BILL

PUT THROUGH ALL STAGES. WITH FULL CONCURRENCE OF OPPOSITION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. When the House of Representatives met this morning, the By-Elections Postponement Bill, introduced on the previous evening, was put through its remaining stages and passed, without discussion . The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Holland) said the measure had been introduced after consultation with the Opposition, and it was felt that it would meet a very general desire to save the expense of by-elections, which would be so close to the general election. The measure had the wholehearted concurrence of the Opposition.
