OF THE VICTORIA CROSS DURING PRESENT WAR. 28 MADE POSTHUMOUSLY (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) RUGBY, June 8. The Deputy Prime Minister, Mr C. R. Attlee, told the House of Commons that 65 Victoria Crosses had been awarded in this war, 28 posthumously. A further award, to a Scottish officer for gallantry in Tunisia, has since been announced.
