BOROUGH OF MASTERTON. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE AND LEVY RATES. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, as required by Section 54 of “The Rating Act, 1925,” that the Masterton Borough Council, in pursuance of its powers under Section 77, 82 and 92 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933,” Section 52 of “The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling it in that behalf, intends, on the 22nd day of June, 1943, to make and levy the following Rates in respect of the Borough of Masterton for the year commencing April 1, 1943, and ending on March 31, 1944:— (1) A General Rate of 5.105 pence in the £. (2) A Library Rate of onefarthing in the £. (3) Special Rates of 3.6 pence in the £ (South Rating Area), 3.03 pence in the £ (Lansdowne Rating Area), all upon the Unimproved Value, the above rates to be consolidated for the purpose of collection. (4) A Hospital Rate of sixpence half-penny in the £ (Annual Value). (5) A Street’‘Lighting Rate of two pence in the £ (Annual Value). (6) The following Special Rates on Special Rating Areas: Special Drainage Loan Rate, a rate of .2 pence in the £ (Unimproved Value); No. 2 Conversion Loan, three pence halfpenny in the £ (Unimproved Value); Lansdowne Footpaths Loan, .08 pence in the £. (6) A Water Supply Rate as follows: —
(a) On all lands and dwellings within the Borough of Masterton to which water is supplied, a rate of 3| per centum on the Annual Value, with a minimum charge of ten shillings. (b) On all lands and buildings used for any purpose other than a dwelling house, and on all lands and buildings to which water can be but is not supplied, situate within 100 yards of any part of the water-works, a rate of one-half of the rate above-mentioned. All the above rates to be payable in one instalment on FRIDAY, August 6, 1943. Further that under the provisions of ‘‘The Rating Act, 1925,” a rebate of 5% be allowed off all rates if paid on or before MONDAY, September 6, 1943.
