AWARDS TO AIRMEN
PILOTS & CREW OF CHURCHILL’S PLANE. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.42 a.m.) RUGBY, June 7. The services of the pilots and crew of the Liberator plane Commando, which has carried Mr Churchill for many thousands of miles are recognised by the following awards: —Captain W. J. Van der Kloot, C.B.E. Captain J. H. Ruggles, M.B.E. (Both captains are American citizens). Radio Officer R. N. Homes, M.B.E. Flight Engineers J. W. Affleck and R. R. Williams are awarded commendations for valuable service in the air. The last three named arc Canadians.
