WEDDING
BROCKMEYER—VAN PRAAGH. The marriage took place at Knox Presbyterian Church, Masterton, this afternoon of Patrine, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs C. C. Van Praagh, Essex Street, Masterton, and Q/M. Sgt. John A. Brockmeyer, U.S.M.C., of St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A. The ceremony was performed by the Rev David McNeur, and Mr C. W. Kerry presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming frock of ivory satin. Her veil of net was held with a coronet of orange blossom and draped with beautiful Venetian point lace, which had been worn by her great-great-grandmother. She also wore a string of pearls and carried a bouquet of orchids and cream chrysanthemums.
Mrs Cliff Murfltt (sister of the bride), matron-of-honour, and Miss Diana Thompson, bridesmaid, wore floral frocks of glazed chintz with eggshell blue ground and sprays of cyclamen shaded flowers in their hair and carried bouquets of cyclamen. Michael Murfltt, nephew of the bride, was a page, in a shirt of ivory satin and navy blue corduroy velvet trousers. Sgt. Leo Hendricks, U.S.M.C., was best man and Sgt. A. Phillips, U.S.M.C., groomsman.
After the ceremony a reception wa/ held at the Ranfurly Club. Mrs Van Praagh received the guests, wearing a frock of cyclamen marocain with felt hat to match and carrying a bouquet of cyclamen.
When Mr and Mrs Brockmeyer left for the north the bride was wearing a navy marocain frock with flank musquash fur coat and cap and navy accessories.
