JAPANESE DESTROYER IN SOLOMONS AREA OTHER ENEMY SHIPS LEFT ON FIRE FIFTEEN ZEROS SHOT DOWN. AGAINST LOSS OF FOUR AMERICAN AIRCRAFT. LONDON, June 6. Li the Pacific area yesterday American bombers and torpedo-carriers sank a Japanese destroyer off Bougainville and hit and set on tire an enemy corvette and merchant ship. During the attack 15 enemy fighters were shot down for the loss of lour American machines. REPEATED RAIDS ON KISKA. On Friday, American aircraft kept up their attacks on the Japanese base at Kiska, in the Aleutians. Five separate raids were made.
