FRIESIAN HEIFERS
SALE NEAR LONGEURN. A sale of 40 in calf pedigree Friesian heifers will be held for convenience at Messrs Voss Bros., woolshed yards near Longburn on Tuesday, June 8. These heifers are a very well bred line and represent the majority of the 1941 crop of heifer calves bred by that well-known breeder in the North. Mr C. H. Steadman, of the Ellerlea Stud. Bay of Islands. Owing to this breeder’s desire to reduce his stud he offered these heifer calves for sale last year and they were purchased by the Paerahi station where they have been farmed and depastured in two separate lots with two stud sires selected from the herds of Messrs J. Lee and M. C. Hodgson, of Tamahere. The heifers have developed into well grown good conditioned cattle showing well in calf and have been lately grazing in the Manawatu where they have been sent for convenience of public sale. The Ellerlea stud is one of the leading pedigree Friesian dairy herds in the Dominion.
