HOCKEY

SIX-A-SIDE TOURNEY. AT LANSDOWNE ON MONDAY. Hockey has thoroughly established its popularity in the Wairarapa and for some years past has drawn larger attendances than any other sport. This is due to excellent management and the high standard of the play. On Monday the annual six-a-side tournament will be held at Lansdowne, the first game commencing at 11.15 a.m. A large number of teams have been entered in the various sections and judging by this season’s play some high grade hockey should be witnessed. Given fine weather there should be a record attendance at the tournament where patrons will find plenty of excitement in a popular pastime.
