Black Marketing of Eggs.

The Internal Marketing Division has undertaken to take steps to combat black marketing in eggs and will make a survey of the whole position relating to sales of eggs to and by retailers. This was announced by Mr J. W. McConnon, egg marketing officer of the division, when in Christchurch. "One has to admit that there has been a certain amount of black marketing,” he said. “It has been discussed by the Christchurch Egg Marketing Advisory Committee, which has asked for more drastic steps to be taken.”

Cain’s Civilisation Discovered. At the Orange Hall last night’ Miss Waterston gave a lantern slide lecture on the findings of Sir L. Woolley and Dr. Langdon, excavators of Ur of the Chaldees, Kish, Evich and Babylon. Clay cuniform tablets were shown dating back to 4,000 B.C. which gave paganised'accounts of the Creation, and of the flood of Noah. Five cities of Cain’s civilisation were excavated. Silver and gold vessels, jewellery and harps were found; thus verifying the account in Genesis chapter four. Cain, known as Sargon of Agade, was found to be the author of paganism, making gods of Adam and Eve and Satan. Next Sunday night there will be a lecture on “The Return of the Messiah and Armageddon according to the vision of II Erdras 11-14.”
