MINOR ATTACKS
ON AMERICAN WEST COAST MADE BY JAPANESE. PLANES REPUTEDLY CARRIED BY SUBMARINE. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) WASHINGTON, June 2. Three Japanese attacks on the west coast —two reputedly by planes from submarines and one shelling from a submarine —were disclosed by forestry officials giving evidence before a Senate committee. Mr Lyell Watts, Chief of the Forest Service, said all the attacks were made on southen Oregon, but did not reveal-'-the dates. He said that one fire was started, but was soon extinguished. Bomb fragments with Japanese inscriptions were found.
