BUILDING SOCIETY
WORKMEN’S FRIEND NO. 2. APPROPRIATION OF £4OO. An extraordinary general meeting of the Workmen’s Friend No. 2 Building Society was held last evening, Mr William Kemp presiding over a fair attendance of members.
An appropriation of £4OO was offered for tender, but as no tenders were received fox - this sum it was resolved that the amount be appropriated by ballot. Mr G. R. Wyllie, South Road, Masterton, was declared entitled to the appropriation. Subsequent to the extraordinary meeting, a meeting of directors was held, Mr Kemp presiding, there being also present: Messrs T. B. Braggins, A. V. Dixon, E. H. Morton, C. W. Walker, A. E. Hubbard, S. M. Gilding and H. L. Price. An apology for absence was received from Mx - E. J. Brown.
The finance report, as submitted by the secretary, was confirmed. Accounts amounting to £2 18s 6d were passed. The secretary reported that two appropriations had been paid off during the month, and approval was given for the necessary release of the mortgages.
