PICTURE PARTY COMING-OF-AGE BIRTHDAY. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs G. Batchelor entertained a number of friends at a picture party, followed by supper and a dance at the Royal Hotel in honour of the 21st birthday of her son, L.A.C. Allen Johns. Among the visiting guests were Mr and Miss Duckworth (Palmerston North), Mr H. Sim and Mr Stroud (Lower Hutt), Miss Johns, Corporal Baker, Mrs Lang (Wellington), and Mr and Mrs Southie (Greytown). Miss Ivy Wilton left yesterday by air for Dunedin. Miss Viles returned home today from a holiday spent in Pahiatua and at Ballance as the guest of Mrs D. Foster.
COSY THEATRE “LYDIA.” The outstanding drama, “Lydia,” “which is one of the best pictures ever brought to the screen, will be shown tonight. The chief roles are taken by Merle Oberon, Alan Marshall and Edna May Oliver.
