GIRAUD & DE GAULLE TEMPORARY BREAKDOWN IN NEGOTIATIONS. OVER ALLEGED VICHY SYMPATHISERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.4 a a.m.) LONDON, June 1. A temporary breakdown has occurred in negotiations between Generals de Gaulle and Giraud, says the United Press Algiers correspondent. It is understood that General de Gaulle is pressing for the removal of M. Pey - routen and General Nogues, suspected of Vichy sympathies. In a statement last night, General Giraud denied that they had already resigned. The first meeting of the French Central Executive Committee in Algiers yesterday is reported to have been stormy. No communique was issued after the meeting, although one had been promised.
