AKRON STRIKERS
ORDERED BACK TO WORK. ROOSEVELT ON INEXCUSABLE HOLD-UP. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day. 9.50 a.m.) NEW YORK, May 27. President Roosevelt has directed the Akron rubber workers to return to work before noon today; otherwise the Government will intervene. Mr Roosevelt described the strike as inexcusable and a flagrant violation of Labour's no-strike pledge.
