IN DESTRUCTION OF GERMAN FIGHTERS AMERICAN BOMBERS BAG 74. DURING RAID ON EMDEN & WILHELMSHAVEN. LONDON, May 27. It is now announced by the United States Air Headquarters in Britain that 74 enemy planes were des- ■ troyed during the American daylight raid on Emden and Wilhelmshaven about a week ago.. This is an American record for one day. The previous best was 67. FIGHTER SWEEPS OVER NORTHERN FRANCE & BELGIUM. LONDON, May 27. R.A.F. fighters made sweeps over Northern France and Belgium this evening. They destroyed two fighters lor the loss of one of their own number.
