Mr and Mrs W. R. Blennerhassett arc staying at “Braeburn.” The death has occurred of Mr Lawrence Larson, formerly superintending mechanical engineer of Westport Harbour. Mr Larson, who was 72 years of age at his death, also served the town as a member of the Westport Borough Council.

The death occurred at his residence in Kelburn, Wellington, yesterday morning of Mr William Godfrey Holdsworth, the oldest former civil servant of the Dominion, at the age of 94 years. Born in 1849, in London, Mr Holdsworth came to New Zealand with his parents at the age of five or six. The interment of the late Mrs A. P. Deal took place at the Masterton Cemetery yesterday afternoon. The Rev David McNeur conducted the service at the Chapel and that at the graveside. Messrs R. Pinhey, J. McKenzie, W. Innes and G. Jarrett were the pall-bearers.

There was a representative attendance at the - funeral yesterday afternoon of the late Mr Charles Hawke, of Masterton, the officiating minister being the Rev H. Taepa. Wreaths were sent by the committee and members of the Park Bowling Club and the management and staff of the W.F.C.A., Ltd., besides many others from private sympathisers. The pallbearers were Messrs G. W. Duff, H. Bailey (nephews of the late Mr Hawke) and J. G. Shearer and A. E. Kilgour, representing the Masterton Park Bowling Club. The death occurred yesterday of Squadron Leader (Dr.) Alexander Wilson Hogg, 0.8. E., aged 68 years. He was in practice in Wellington till the outbreak of the present war, during the last few years as a consultant. For several years he was interested in the Air Force, being one of the medical examiners. When the war began he was seconded to the Air Force, and, after some time as medical officer at Rongotai, was appointed president of the Air Force Medical Board, a position which he retained till the time of his death. Squadron Leader Hogg was spending a few days’ leave in Marlborough Sounds when he died.
