MADE BY THE JAPANESE. SINKING OF ALLIED SHIPS IN PACIFIC. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 26. The Tokio official radio says a communique claims that Japanese naval units from May 1 to May 24 sank the following enemy vessels in the South Pacific:— Firstly, by submarines, two tankers aggregating 30,000 tons, six freighters, aggregating 65,000 tons, and one transport of 15,000 tons. Secondly, by aircraft, four transports, aggregating 9.400 tons. It is alleged that Japanese naval units since May 1, have also sunk sixteen enemy submarines.
