WAIRARAPA R.S.A. BRANCH ANNUAL MEETING. — I (“Times-Age” Special.) | The annual meeting of the Featherston branch of the Wairarapa Returned Services Association was presided over by Mr H. Lawson. The following officers were elected; —Chairman, Mr H. Lawson; secretary, Mr J. A. Halpin; treasurer, Mr H. C. Hunter; auditor, Mr H. Crawford; delegate to Central Committee, Mr J. W. Fellingham; committee, Messrs Bargh. Corlet, Brandon, Cassidy, Lowell, H. W. Hodder, F. A. Butterfield and Rev. J. R. Higgs. It was decided to hold a ball on a date to be decided by the committee. After the reading of the secretary’s report, the meeting stood in silence as a mark of respect to the memory of Digger W. Bilton. Fellowship of Youth. The St. John’s Fellowship of Youth met in the Parish Hall last evening when an enjoyable and instructive time was spent by all. The subject, “That there will be a better world after the war” was debated and carried, the chief speakers being Lindsay Wall, Elizabeth Hodder, Minnie Saunders and Ross Saunders. There was the usual business meeting followed by games. Miss P. Halpin was elected secretary upon the resignation of Miss A, Cassidy. Red Cross Society. The results for the Pahautea-Kahu-tara sub-centre of the Red Cross Society's hygiene and sanitation examinations held recently are: —Intermediate: Miss Barbara Corlett and Mrs RHood; advanced, Miss Barbara Beattie. Personal., Mr and Mrs Lawrence, of Eastbourne, are the guests of Mr and Mrs S. Grant, Pahautea. COSY THEATRE “REMEMBER THE DAY.” A story with a wide appeal, “Remember the Day,” with Claudette Colbert and John Payne in the principal roles, is the attraction 'at the Cosy Theatre this evening. There is a good supporting programme.
