OBITUARY

MR ROBERT CALDOW.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day.

The death has occurred of Mr Robert Thomson Caldow, at one time a familiar figure in choral music, aged 86. He came from Scotland in 1881 and joined the Railways Department at Oamaru, afterwards serving in Wellington, Invercargill and Auckland. The family consists of Mrs H. W. Fiddes, better known as Miss Minna Caldow, contralto, of Auckland, and Mr W. E. Caldow, secretary of the Wellington Choral Union.
